What happens if my dog misses a scheduled vaccine due to travel?

It's best for Milo's immunity to have his second vaccine given four weeks after the first, but if you cannot get him into the vet at that time, do not put it off longer than a week. He will be fine with it being a week out. Best of luck!

As long as you don't go 6 weeks in between boosters you are ok. Beyond 6 weeks you are going into a time period where a good immune response could be less likely and then another booster would be advised. So as long as you are under 6 weeks between vaccines you should be fine. Good luck with Amber.

For most normal healthy dogs in households with humans who are not immunocompromised and don't partake in doggies daycare, dog parks or groomers, 4-6 weeks is generally fine. If however your pet does not meet this profile, you need to discuss the situation with your veterinarian. Also, the Rabies vaccine should always be kept up to date and never late. I hope this helps.

He can have his vaccinations 2-3 weeks apart, so you can ask your vet to do the 11 week vaccine 3-4 days earlier and then do the third vaccine the day before you travel. This should work. Your puppy will have good protection, but the full protection will not be until about two weeks after the last vaccine. Make sure he also has a bordetella vaccination before going to the boarding facility, preferably at the next to last vaccination date so he can make sufficient antibodies by the time he goes to boarding.

From an immunologic perspective, nothing significant is changing in Lola's immune system between now and Saturday, so getting the booster done then will be fine. From a legal perspective, the rabies vaccine expires exactly 1 year from the initial booster, so she will be considered "unvaccinated" for a couple days. I wouldn't be too worried about you boostering her a couple days late - but to be on the safe side, just limit her exposure to strangers or other dogs for those few days until she's vaccinated again, to avoid the rare chance of someone getting bitten and inquiring about her rabies status. Hi, as an adult dog this should not be the first vaccines he has gotten. If these are his second boosters, they need to be done at a certain time to be effective. if he has had vaccines in the past and these are his yearly vaccines, they should be effective until you are able to take him on the 24th. The vet may suggest a booster in 3 weeks if they are late, but that should not effect him. He will not get sick. it is very common for dogs to not have a full appetite when their owners are gone, but I would have him checked during his vaccine appointment. Good luck!

Normally, we want to make sure that the booster vaccine is given within 4-6 weeks of the original vaccine. 3-4 weeks is best. So as long as you get Chica in to the vet sometime in the next few days, you should be fine. If you go much longer than that, your veterinarian may recommend doing another booster in 3-4 weeks to make sure that she develops an appropriate immune response.
