Is it okay to give Milk-Bone treats with grain-free dog food?

As with any treat, as long as it isn't causing Chloe to have any vomiting, diarrhea or inappetence, small amounts of treats in moderation are fine for most dogs. If she is dealing with a weight issue, there are low calorie treats that are available as well.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would just pick one protein source. I do not think Chloe is overweight, she has a waste. I wouldn't recommend letting her gain anymore though. I think the treats are fine as long as Chloe doesn't have a chicken allergy. I hope this helps and have a great day!

They aren't the best brands, but you can give them to Chloe. The reason why they aren't the best brands is because they are cheaper, which means they are made with lower quality ingredients. If you want high quality treats for her, I'd recommend brands such as Royal Canin, Purina ProPlan, or Iams :-)

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chloe. The pet food industry and its terminology can be very confusing. Meat generally refers to skeletal muscle tissue from the animal source (chicken, beef, etc). Meal meal is formed from tissue leftover after slaughter. It is cooked down and dried to be added as a protein source. Bone meal refers to ground bone and adds calcium and phosphorus to the diet. Milk bones are nice treats for dogs as then come in very small sizes. This helps with portion control as many peta are overweight. I have attached an article that will explain this further. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Unless your dog has a true grain allergy (which is very rare), then there is no problem feeding grains to your dog. If she likes the food, has good poops, and a good hair coat, and is a good weight, then feed it. The most important thing for dogs is to feed a lower fat, higher fibre diet as they get older (about age 7) as at this age they are more prone to gaining weight and diseases such as pancreatitis which are made worse by fatty foods. Milkbones, in moderation are fine to give your dog. They are typically pretty low in calories so they are a better treat than other chewy/jerky like treats. Just remember less than 10% of your dog’s diet should come from treats. The other 90% should come from a well balanced dog food.
