Is it okay to give Milk-Bone treats with grain-free dog food?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | spayed | 5 years and 10 months old | 17 lbs

I feed my dog Fromm grain free food and right now I'm giving her milkbone biscuits. Is this unhealthy for her? Should I just use the same treats as the food? Why or why not? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

It is fine for Chloe to have milk bones. The treats and the dog food doesn't have to be the same unless Chloe suffers from food or skin allergies where the food protein is the same.

Have a great day!
