Can my dog eat Milk-Bones? Are they safe and healthy for dogs?

As with any treat, as long as it isn't causing Chloe to have any vomiting, diarrhea or inappetence, small amounts of treats in moderation are fine for most dogs. If she is dealing with a weight issue, there are low calorie treats that are available as well.

It is ok to give her some but they contain a lot of calories so you should limit the amount that you give. You could also mix a small amount of peanut butter with her dry food and then stuff the contents into the Kong. You could also freeze the Kong so it takes more time for her to get the material out of the Kong.

Biscuits should be used as small treats or rewards. They should not be used as the main source of nutrition or given in excess. This would be akin to me or you eating only junk food at every meal. Limit the biscuits to no more than 10% of the total diet.

Too much calcium in large breed growing puppies is highly problematic. This can lead to serious bone defects and diseases processes including possible Hypertrophic Osteodrystrophy (HOD). I would highly recommend refraining from calcium milk bones at this frequency and perhaps only giving them 2-3 times a week, instead of everyday, just to ensure you aren't giving them in excess. Thank you for submitting your question and congratulations on your first dog! Treats should not comprise more than 10% of the diet. They should be given in small amounts. If you are giving Milk Bones, by the tiny size and only give several a day. Most dogs in this country are overweight. Being strict with his diet from the start with help to prevent this from occurring with him. As far as the best chew, it is based on the individual dog. The chew needs to be something he enjoys, but more importantly something he cannot break pieces off and swallow. This can become a surgery to remove. I hope this information helps!
