My dog had melanoma. Now a nail infection. Is toe amputation right?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | neutered | 1.5 lbs

9 yo mini schnauzer malignant melanoma front paw last year amputated Past week ?nail bed infection from ? Trauma or Tumour again on oral abs if no better by next week for toe amputation given history is this reasonable dog is well thanks marion

Yes, I would think this is a reasonable treatment plan for Benson. Given that he has a past history of malignant melanoma, it is possible that he could have another tumor, so it the antibiotics don't help,I would consider amputating the tail to be safe. Hope this helps, Marion!
