My dog has lumps spreading quickly on his nose and face. What's wrong?

A couple of things come to mind as possibilities. This could be an acute hypersensitivity reaction to something - bug bite/sting, perhaps - or possibility a severe bacterial infection called furunculosis. There are also some immune-mediated/auto-immune diseases that attack the top of the nose. See your vet about this. An appropriate treatment plan might be to start antibiotics and if no improvement after 2 weeks consider a biopsy to obtain a definitive diagnosis.

I would be suspicious this may be s fungal infection, especially when it appears to be spreading. I recommend you get his checked and an appropriate treatment prescribed as soon as possible; be aware that some infections such as ringworm can be picked up by people also so handle with care until this can be ruled out

Since there are a few lumps all in a row, my best guess as to what that would be is some sort of irritating from something that he stuck his nose into. It could also be a series of insect bites that are now deciding to swell up. Without examining, palpating, and possible aspirating the affected areas it is really impossible to say with certainly, but with that would definitely be my best guess based on the photos. If areas seem like they are hard, or very warm to the touch, they should definitely be examined by a veterinarian for other possibilities. Some of these would include some sort of bony abnormalities or the beginnings of an abscess, though it would be a very strange location. Hope this helps!

It could be an infection, cyst, allergic reaction, benign or cancerous lump. The best thing would be to have your vet examine her to perform a needle aspirate to help diagnose. Your vet can then determine the best way to treat. She may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or it may need to be removed.

If these lumps have suddenly appeared then it may be an allergic reaction to a sting or such. If so t should settle down within 48 hours. However it would be worth going to the vet to ensure she is okay and that it is nothing else such as infection or masses. Even if it is just allergic reaction they can usually give an injection to help it settle faster.
