My dog has a liquid-filled bump on his leg from biting. Is it a cyst?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 90 lbs

Black gsd has developed a 1” area on his leg that has liquid in it. I believe it was caused by extensive biting to relieve itching.

If it is fluid-filled it is probably a cyst. You cannot "cure" a cyst with any medications. To be rid of it completely it needs to be surgically removed. I suggest you have him examined by your vet since you stated he has been biting that area.
