My senior dog has clear fluid-filled bumps on her back legs. What are they?

If it is fluid-filled it is probably a cyst. You cannot "cure" a cyst with any medications. To be rid of it completely it needs to be surgically removed. I suggest you have him examined by your vet since you stated he has been biting that area.

A cyst is a fluid-filled pocket under the skin. They can have fluid or a thick substance. Sometimes the contents can come out but the only way to fully treat a cyst is to have it surgically removed. I think you should have Bliss evaluated by your vet. This growth could be a tumor, a cyst, a lymph node or an abscess. Just by looking at it I would guess it is a tumor but it is difficult to say just by looking at a photo. She will need to be examined by your vet so you can get a diagnosis and then a treatment plan.

This bump on Aspen's leg could be a cyst, a lipoma, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious bumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Aspen into the vet tomorrow to have the bump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated.

Fluid filled structures on abnormal areas of the body are usually either cysts, abscesses, or tumors. The only way to know for sure is to have it examined by a veterinarian, and likely have it stuck with a needle to have the fluid examined.

I can see the small, raised, slightly red hairless lump on Hazel's paw in the photo. This may be a bug bite, localized skin infection, or a mass (which is less likely in younger dogs). I recommend having the area examined by a vet to determine the underlying cause and begin the appropriate treatment. In the meantime, you can get Hazel an E-collar or "cone" to prevent her licking the area and causing further trauma and irritation.

The problem with cysts is that they can get bigger, then pop, and refill again. This should be drained sterilely, and the cyst may need to be removed surgically to prevent it from reoccurring. Do not try to pop it yourself, as that will introduce infection into the area. I would have Jim seen by a vet today if the vet is open for normal business hours, or on Monday to have the cyst drained. The vet can decide if it needs to be removed surgically.
