My dog is limping with a black mark and bump on its paw. What's wrong?

It looks a little red and inflamed so it could be an infection. You could soak his paw in a warm Epsom salt solution and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet take a look at him as he may need an antibiotic to treat the infection.

This lump looks like it could be a cyst or other skin growth or tumor, and I doubt it is related to the limping. The limping more likely would be related to arthritis, previous trauma or other joint disease. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian. They can examine the lump and may recommend taking a sample using a small needle to determine what it is. They can also examine Moose's leg and may recommend taking x-rays.

Hi. That looks like a mass on that foot. It could be benign, or malignant. It is hard to tell from this picture. It could even be something as simple as mole/wart like mass. The way to know would be to have him examined by your veterinarian and have the perform a cytology. A cytology is looking at the cells of these masses at the microscopic appearance of cells, studying them especially for the diagnosis of abnormalities and malignancies. Good luck.

That mass on Ryder's foot looks like a mass than an allergy but it is difficult to tell from a picture. You can try soaking it in an epsom salt bath but it really looks like it needs to be examined by a veterinarian. It could be something benign like a cyst or histiocytoma but it could also be a malignant mass such as a mast cell tumor.
