My dog has a red, inflamed bump on his paw. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 40 lbs

I noticed that tux has a bump on his left rear paw he only has one I was wondering if I may be mistaking and it is the shape of his toe and if I should be concerned

It looks a little red and inflamed so it could be an infection. You could soak his paw in a warm Epsom salt solution and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet take a look at him as he may need an antibiotic to treat the infection.

You can soak his paw in warm water with epsoms salt twice a day, then once it is dry apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. That will help drain the area and treat the infection. Keep it covered or use a restraint collar if needed to prevent Harvey from licking the area. If it's not improving in several days then Harvey may need a veterinary visit to get antibiotics. Skin and paw sores can take a week or two to heal so be patient and it will get better. Always if things get worse then bring him in for an exam sooner. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine what is causing the bump and to provide treatment. . In the meantime, if he is licking the area, I recommend putting an e-collar/cone on him to help prevent licking and reduce the risk of infection.

My dog has a bump on his paw between his toes. What should I do?

This bump on Chevy could be due to an insect bite, it could be an infected wound, a cyst, or it could be a foreign body. You can try soaking his foot in an Epsom salt bath to see if that helps it reduce. Soak it for five minutes at a time a couple of times a day. If that doesn't help or the bump gets bigger, I would take Chevy into the vet to have it examined.
