My dog went limp and is throwing up after his bath. What happened?

It's unlikely that the bath burned him if it was a temperature that a human was comfortable with. However, he could have pulled something in a leg or his neck. Since it's been going on for 2 days at this point, I'd recommend a general check up to try to determine what is going on.

My guess is that during the bath he aspirated some water down into his lungs. I recommend you stop trying to give him water for now. You need to get him to a vet if he is lethargic (just laying around) and groaning. This could be a serious issue in a small breed dog that is so young. I would consider this an emergency. If Kiba ingested a bone recently and is throwing up it's good that you're taking him to the vet. It's possible it caused some digestive upset or may have caused an obstruction. As for the itching, it could be related to the bone, allergies, skin infections or other issues so having it checked by the vet is best. If he's acting very lethargic, I'd wait on the bath just to reduce stress, however if there are any particularly muddy or dirty patches on his body you can use a pet wipe or clean washcloth to wipe it down.

It would depend what you bathed her with, but if it was something for fleas, or something with some other kind of chemical, I would be concerned that she ingested some and is likely having a reaction to what ever you may have used to bathe her with. There are other things that could cause vomiting and diarrhea such as toxins, infections, inflammation of the bowel, ingestion of foreign material, liver, kidney or pancreatic disease. Additionally, if she is now feeling sick after her bath, and if she was stressed during her bath then this could also be Addison's disease. I would recommend having Nickhun evaluated by a veterinarian today to ensure there is nothin in her GI tract or ensure she is not having a toxic reactions. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Water in the ear canal can certainly cause a dog to be disoriented and off-balance. This feeling can result in nausea as well. You can massage at the base of the ear and see if you hear any gurgly or swishing noising indicating that some was caught down there. What you have described definitely does not sound like a gran mal episode or something necessarily worth a trip to vet for at this time. I would continue to monitor Bruce closely for any changes or repeated episodes.

He could have a seizure from stress or collapsed from lack of oxygen from stress or gotten some water in his lungs. If he is not up and walking and not eating or drinking, he should be seen by your vet for IV fluids for supportive care and have testing done to see what is the problem. IF he aspirated, it will show up on x rays along with his heart to see if there is problem

It's possible the stress of the bath startled her or stressed her out a lot, causing her to want to run away or be very tired. In small breeds, hypoglycemia from excessive activity may also cause increased sleepiness or exhaustion. Making sure she is on a balanced diet and gets 3-4 meals a day can help prevent this. You may also want to take things a bit slower at the next bath and blow-dry, adding in treats in between each step, and taking time to stop and take breaks if she becomes too nervous or stressed out. If the strange behavior or tiredness continues to occur even without another bath, or she seems to have a worsening of symptoms, seeking out vet care in person is best to rule out any more serious health issues.
