My puppy licked lime juice. Is lime juice safe or toxic for dogs?

A small amount of lime juice should not cause any problems except potentially a little drooling/ gastrointestinal upset. It is usually the skin and oils from citrus fruit that can cause toxicity. Hello, yes lemon juice is not considered to cause any significant side effects. If he develops loose stools or vomiting. If these persists over a day, then have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Hope this helps.

However, in some cases it may cause irritation, nausea, vomiting and in rare occasions also gastrointestinal ulcers. You can continue to monitor Bella and if you notice any nausea, vomiting, inappetence or blood in the feces or vomit, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. That wasn't good of Hope to eat the tortilla! The good news is that the fruit of the lime is edible to dogs, only the skin and the plant material causes problems. More than likely, these tortillas have lime fruit as part of them, and that should not cause a problem. You can look out for signs of toxicity from the skin and plant material just to be safe, which includes vomiting, diarrhea, and depression. Should you see any of those signs, I would take Hope into the vet to be safe; otherwise, she should be fine :-)

I have already answered that your dog will be probably be just fine. Lemons are not fatal to dogs, they just may cause some GI upset. I dog that is 110 pounds that licked the inside of a hollowed lemon did not ingest enough for it cause a problem. If you would like to post again I will be happy to just let another expert answer if you want a another opinion.

Certain chemicals in hair dye is known to be toxic to dogs, but it usually takes more than a lick to cause serious complications. However, I would expect some vomiting and excessive drooling from this. If you are not seeing this within the first hour after she licked it, then it's a good sign that she will not have any toxic effects. However, you should monitor her for signs of excessive vomiting, difficulty breathing, and/or lethargy as a sign that she is having serious complications. If you notice this, then take her to the vet immediately for treatment. In-fact, if there is any concern about toxicity, then it's best to take her to the vet for treatment and monitoring. If you don't notice any signs of toxicity within the next 12 hours, then most likely she will be fine. For now, it's best to give a little milk (about 1cup) and plenty of water.
