My dog licked Ajax. What should I do if my dog ate cleaning product?

Oh no, that was naughty of Zeus to lick up the carpet cleaner! Given that it was diluted by water and he only had a small lick, he should be fine. Because it causes hydrogen peroxide it can cause some GI upset in the form of vomiting, and I would monitor him for now. If you do see vomiting, anorexia, or lethargy, have Zeus seen by a vet immediately for a health check.

I would flush out her mouth with water, and keep an eye on her for now. You may see some self-limiting GI signs, such as drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea. I would try a home remedy in case you see these GI signs. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. Should Lolla be unable to even keep down water, however, then I would take her into the vet as that shows severe stomach irritation and she will need a gut protectant. Hopefully because she ate only a little bit, she should be fine.

Poor Bubby! Windex contains ammonia, and ingestion of it causes GI signs (drooling, appetite loss, vomiting), as well as oral ulcers, GI bleeding,/diarrhea, changes in breathing, even liver damage in some cases. He is showing signs of GI upset from ingestion, and he needs to be seen by a vet now. I would be concerned that he could develop ulcers and GI bleeding, and he needs treatment to prevent that from occurring. I would take him into a vet now. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Had should be okay, you may notice he starts to salivate quite a bit, but it doesnt sound like he ate too much. Keep an eye for signs of an upset tummy and if he seems very poorly take him to the vet.

Well, it isn't good that Nilo licked bleach. Bleach is caustic, and it can cause oral and esophageal burns. Rinse his mouth out with water, and examine his mouth to see if you see any signs of burns. It's unlikely that one lick will cause serious problems, but monitor him for now. If he develops GI upset with excessive vomiting, bloody vomit, not eating and drinking, or dark tarry stools, he will need to see a vet immediately.

If he has not developed signs of drooling, vomiting, gagging, retching so far, most likely he will be ok. Products used for cleaning carpets are irritant to the gums, esophagus and stomach but if he is liked only small amount of it, he should not get into any problems.

Certain chemicals in hair dye is known to be toxic to dogs, but it usually takes more than a lick to cause serious complications. However, I would expect some vomiting and excessive drooling from this. If you are not seeing this within the first hour after she licked it, then it's a good sign that she will not have any toxic effects. However, you should monitor her for signs of excessive vomiting, difficulty breathing, and/or lethargy as a sign that she is having serious complications. If you notice this, then take her to the vet immediately for treatment. In-fact, if there is any concern about toxicity, then it's best to take her to the vet for treatment and monitoring. If you don't notice any signs of toxicity within the next 12 hours, then most likely she will be fine. For now, it's best to give a little milk (about 1cup) and plenty of water.
