Why is my dog licking his red genitals? Pimple. Can I treat at home?

This could be a bacterial skin infection. If any urine gets trapped on his fur or any moisture, this can predispose them to infection. That red area could be many things from a superficial skin infection to allergies. At home you can wash the lesion daily with soap and rinse well. Once it is dried, you can apply a dab of coconut oil and rub it in well. Prevent him from licking the lesion by having him wear an elizabethan collar at all times. The small pinkish pimples are pustules and are suggestive of some more recent infection, the darker ones are the same but slightly older lesions. It looks like a mild skin infection, which can happen quite easily in an rare that can get dirty on walk or when they lie. I would suggest to bathe the area gently with some salty water 2-3 times daily and dry it with a soft cloth or towel afterwards, and see if the pustules disappear and the other ones start to regress, it might take a few days. To make up some salty water, just add one teaspoon of salt per two cups of bolied hot water, then leave it to cool down. You could try to clean the area with a mild soap and water. You can put a cone collar on his to prevent licking so he doesn't make the infection worse. This particular problem tends to take a long time to heal and can get worse without proper treatment. For these reasons I recommend taking Dexter to the vet for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. For now, wash/spray the area with cool, clean water (no soap or other antiseptics) for at least 5 minutes at a time. Do this at least twice a day. Ouch! Poor Dylan! This looks like a little local infection that he has been licking. I would place an e-collar I him to prevent licking. You can clean it with mild soap and water. And I would also put some neosporin on it twice a day. If it is not improving in the next day or two then I would definitely take him in to see your veterinarian for an exam. Your vet will be able to prescribe some oral anabiotics and some stronger topical medicine if needed. If at any point he is not eating or is lethargic then I would also take him to your vet. The first thing you need to do is put a cone collar on him to keep him from continuing to lick the skin. He has scrotal dermatitis (an infection of the scrotal skin) and no matter what you use to treat It with, if he just continues to lick, it will not get better.
