Dog lethargic, panting, shaking, and tummy hurts. What should I do?

From this description, I'm worried about a heart murmur. An heart murmur is turbulent blood flow in the heart and if it's severe enough you can actually hear it or feel it from the outside. This can lead to congestive heart failure. I would recommend scheduling a vet appointment tomorrow morning, or going to an emergency clinic if he is breathing rapidly (more than 30 breaths a minute while resting) very lethargic, or his gums look pale. Poor Luckie! She doesn't have a fever, as a dog's normal temperature is between 38.3-39.2C. The nose isn't used as a sign of illness in a dog, as their nose can go from wet to dry just by sitting in the sun or laying next to a heat source. Lethargy is a very general sign of illness in dogs, and it could be caused by a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. She could be panting because she is in pain or stressed out, and the hard tummy could be hard due to constipation (unlikely because she is pooping regularly) or an upset stomach. Given that she doesn't have a fever, is eating and drinking, and going to the bathroom regularly, I would monitor her for now. If she is still lethargic in 24-48 hours, or she develops other signs such a vomiting, diarrhea, and anorexia, I would have her seen by a vet.

I would recommend taking Pups to the vet. These symptoms are very concerning, and probably not related to her mammary nodule. It could be dietary intolerance or indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. The straining and liquid is likely severe diarrhea - similar to humans, you can strain with diarrhea and have nothing come out. The vet will do a thorough exam and may recommend blood work or x-rays to determine what is going on.

This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. A check up is needed if these vague signs last for more than 24hours. Hi there. While it is not abnormal for Charlie to be lethargic and behave differently when everyone leaves-this is a bit much. I would recommend taking him in to your veterinarian in case something else is going on. Pancreatitis, intoxication, and a few other diseases can start with this presentation. Shivering in dogs is often a pain response (can also be nervousness, cold, etc). If these behaviors continue I recommend taking him in as soon as you can to try to prevent it from getting worse. Licking things is most commonly associated with nausea. I can't easily make that related to a heart murmur, so probably something new going on. I'd feed her a bland diet tonight (boiled chicken and rice) and take her in if the licking continues tomorrow. If it seems obsessive, take a video, and go today.
