Why is my dog not excited, drinking little, and struggling to pee?

If she is having difficulty urinating, I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I'm sorry to hear that Jersey Mae isn't feeling well. Before you give her anything, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her and check a urine sample. If she has a urinary tract infection, she may need antibiotics. If you think Sophie is uncomfortable and in pain, I would take her in to be examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If she is not uncomfortable, as you say, then she is probably just fine. Sometimes the frequency at which dogs go to the bathroom changes based on hydration and behavioral changes (not wanting to go outside much, etc.). I would keep an eye on her and if she begins to develop any symptoms such as needing to go more frequent, straining to urinate, blood in urine, etc. then I would take her in to be seen by a veterinarian.

IT may be that she has some discomfort from bladder inflammation or a urinary tract infection - a urine sample would help to identify any underlying causes. I would try to increase her fluid intake by adding water to feed, adding canned food or flavouring her water with boiled chicken water etc to help flush the bladder and dilute the urine as this could be contributing to pain and discomfort during urination

Poor girl! One of the most common culprits for this issue is a urinary tract infection. Many times, dogs are reluctant to urinate when it's painful, so they either try to hold it, have accidents in the house when they can't hold it, or they dribble and urinate more frequently. Pain and discomfort associated with urinary issues can commonly cause them to eat less or skip meals. Likewise, kidney infections, bladder stones, and other issues, can cause similar problems. At this point, as long as Molly is able to pass urine and is still acting normally, I think you can wait to see you vet first thing tomorrow. If she's unable to urinate, lethargic, or vomiting, I think you should take her to an ER vet today. A vet will need to collect a urine sample, so be sure not to let her urinate on her way into her appointment! Unfortunately, there really isn't anything else that you can do at home at this point aside from taking her outside frequently and offering plenty of fresh water. I hope that she feels better soon!

Is she trying to urinate but can’t? If so this could be an emergency and she should be seen immediately. It is also possible that she is dehydrated and doesn’t have much urine to produce. I recommend that you have Bory evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work.
