my dog has hurt her back left leg again by falling off the sofa. shes done it before and the vet gave her painkillers and told to rest. she is still using it, think it is just bit sore. is there anywhere i can get her painkillers apart from the vets that is safe for dogs.

Unfortunately no there is no way to get pet friendly pain medication without first seeing a vet. You will have to schedule an appt with your vet to get the prescription that is needed. Over the counter human pain meds should not be used in pets because they can cause acute liver and/or kidney failure. I hope that Echo feels better soon, and I agree that he likely has sprained it if she is still using the leg. Take care.

Unfortunately not. Most OTC medications are toxic to dogs. You can have Echo rechecked by your veterinarian or you can restrict her activity and see if she improves. If she is painful though, she should see the veterinarian.
