My German Shepherd has leg pain, falling, screaming, can't walk.

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 2 years old

I have a two year old German Shepherd. I came home yesterday and she was falling everywhere when she would walk. I figured out that her rear left leg has a quarter sized scrape but she will not let me touch her leg. last night I woke up to what sounded like something trying to kill her just to find her clumsily running around and screaming!! she did it again around six this morning. this afternoon she will hardly walk at all. I do not have the money for a vet bill. suggestions please:( :.(

Unfortunately I have no suggestions for things you can try at home for this. It sounds like Riven is in a lot of pain, and I have to advise that you have her seen immediately, in order to uncover the exact cause and get an appropriate treatment. Perhaps a friend or family member will loan you some money, or you can try contacting a VCA clinic in your area, as they often waive the exam fee for new clients.
