Toby is very cute! It is hard to say what is causing he swelling without seeing him but if there is pus and blood then it is likely infected. If a foreign object was under the surface of his skin it could create a swelling. The best way to know is to have a vet stick a needle into the swelling and look at the cells under the microscope. As the swelling is in several different places i suspect a severe infection in that foot, she will need to have a course of oral antibiotics, if you cannot afford a vet please contact the human society or another dog charity in your area of living, they might be able to help.

This large lump looks very infected, you need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, if this is just an infection a course of antibiotics will be needed but it could be something worse than that.

I'm sorry Pogo has this going on. Many things can cause what you describe, but I am suspicious that it might be an infected and now ruptured tumor. This could be benign or malignant, but should be evaluated quickly. Your veterinarian may have to treat the infection before they can diagnose what the lump may be. In the mean time warm compresses may help it drain and make Pogo feel better. Keep him indoors and away from flies or the wound will be full of maggots in a day. Good luck to both of you!
