This can be due to a lack of muscle tone or from a medical problem such as diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colitis, liver or kidney disease, or Cushing’s disease. I'm sorry to hear that Dakota is sick! Poor girl! I'm very concerned that she has vomited a blood clot and is having a hard time eating and urinating. Dakota needs to see a veterinarian right away to have these issues addressed. A blood clot in the vomit can indicate a severe GI ulcer or toxin exposure and subsequent bleeding. If she is unable to urinate she may have a severe UTI, bladder stone, or kidney infection. All of the above conditions require veterinary medical care. It is likely that Dakota may need blood work and a urinalysis to find out what the underlying cause is. She may need fluids and antibiotics in addition to other support care. The fact that you are reaching out for help does show that you love your dogs, and it's the right thing to do. While you are correct that Pixie's symptoms could be due to diabetes, they could also be due to a UTI. A UTI would make her feel ill, and consequently cause her to want to sleep more. Should she have a UTI, then a course of antibiotics will cure it. The only way to know for sure what is going on with her, however, is to take her into the vet. A vet can do routine blood tests, and a urinalysis to see if she does have diabetes or a UTI, and can treat her accordingly. I would take her into the vet to diagnose what is causing her symptom because both can be treated. I cannot comment on whether or not it is time to euthanize Sasha since I have never done an exam on her. With her not eating, drinking and urinating in herself, then you have to look at her quality of life. I would talk to your vet to see if there is anything that could help her or if her bloodwork looked too bad. You may talk to your vet about medicine for cognitive disorder (dementia) like anipryl and omega 3 fatty acids. Also, you can add a medicine that helps with incontinence (urinating while sleeping) called proin that may help. Finally, if she is weak and not able to get around and her bloodwork looks good, you may want to talk to your vet about medicines for arthritis. Thee are also appetite stimulants and anti-nausea medicines that usually work really well in animals too. I hope you are able to find a way to keep her comfortable for a little while longer. I agree, you need to take her in for an exam. You can't let her suffer due to financial constraints. You need to find a way to get her help. Any continued abnormal symptoms (longer than 24 hours) warrants a vet exam. I cannot tell you what is wrong with her just by your description. There are many different things that could be causing her symptoms. Those symptoms are very vague and could be caused by any illness or disease process. I can tell you that you need to be diligent getting weird symptoms checked out especially with an older dog. Please get her a vet exam as soon as you can. They may recommend running some lab tests and/or x-rays.

Poor girl. She may have a urinary tract infection that has been going on for a while so now it is making her ill. Other possible causes of general illness in an older pet are: a closed pyometra (spontaneous infected uterus), or organ malfunction (liver, kidneys, etc). I would highly recommend taking her in to your vet right away for testing (urinalysis +/- bloodwork), to determine what the underlying problem is so that we know how best to treat her. Until you can get her seen you can try feeding her small amounts of boiled plain chicken and rice or slightly warmed cans of baby food to provide her some nutrition.
