Why is my pug itchy with a rash, vomiting, diarrhea, and hot ears?

These spots you are seeing on Charlotte are pustules, or localized areas of infection. The crusts you have provided a picture of (with the hair still attached) are also an indication of infection. These symptoms along with her itchiness indicate that she may have an allergy issue. Oftentimes when a dog has allergies they become very itchy and the dog will scratch at their skin which leads to the infection. Charlotte will probably need antibiotics and an anti-itch medication to help her overcome the issue. Good luck.

I am so sorry that Chanita is dealing with this. I would highly recommend calling your veterinarian and taking her to see them. This looks like it could potentially be an allergic reaction and that would explain why the benadryl helped and the lesions are no longer there. She may still have some of the allergen affecting her. Your veterinarian can perform blood work to make sure there is nothing else going on with her and then give her medication to help with the allergen. They can also vomit from an allergic reaction so it does not surprise me. Regarding her stool you can always try a bland diet (boiled chicken and white rice). Hello. This sounds like it might be an allergic reaction. This could result in swelling around the airways. If hives are present (raised, haired bumps about 1cm across), then I would suggest a visit to the vet for some medications. Good luck with your little one!

The skin infection may be due to a resistant bacteria, so you may need to play around with various other antibiotics to see which works best. I would also recommend using a topical approach using the following products and see if this helps. As for the diarrhea, I would also add in a probiotic such as Fortiflora and test the stool for intestinal parasites. 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo 2. Malacetic conditioning spray 3. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent Mojo is a breed where we do see skin infections and abnormal skin problems show up commonly. The diarrhea could be from something such as a dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, GI inflammatory disease, cancer, etc. You could use Tylosin powder (an antibiotic) and see if this helps calm down the diarrhea. You could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. If not, he should be examined by a veterinarian for treatment. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or a steroid to help treat the rash and hives. You should talk to your back about keeping him on an anti-histamine long-term to prevent the rash from developing in the future. If your veterinarian is closed for a while, you may want to find a vet that is open so treatment can be started as soon as possible.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Chuggers! It’s hard to say if the red bumps are pustules (white center) which indicates a bacterial infection. The rash could be a contact allergy or hives. I would start Benadryl and if the bumps are still there Monday take him to your vet for an exam. Steroids, antibiotics or a topical medication may be needed.
