Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Akita | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 8 days old | 66 lbs

Hello, my name is Stefana and my boyfriend bought me a dog for my 18 birthday. He got him from romania and we had to wait until he was 4 moths old to get him into the uk. Now he is 7 months old and I want to travel with him to romania in december. I want to know what do i need to be able to travel with him? He is microchiped, had all his vaccination in romania, has a passport, but the name of hte keeper on the passport is the man that gave us the dog from romania. Please help me.

Yes you will but you need to have a new passport with your name. Your local vet can write on the new passport all the vaccination already done and change the name of the owner. Ask you local vet about it and make sure you do it as soon as possible as it takes few days to have it done.
