Can I safely travel internationally with my 11-month Maltipoo ESA?

Hello, thank you or using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. There are some very specific requirements to travel overseas with a pet. This is something you need to work very closely with your veterinarian to make sure nothing is missed. This just can not be done on line by yourself. Your veterinarian will research what is necessary based on what countries you will be visiting. Please also consider the stress you will be subjecting such a young puppy to. It is a very long flight with no potty breaks, & if your pup gets sick overseas, you will be in a very difficult situation trying to find veterinary care. Perhaps you have a trusted relative or friend who can keep Luna for you while you are gone? Honestly, this will be so much better than trying to travel & find pet friendly hotels while in Europe. Double check with your vet that all the requirements for transporting Bella across the countries are met. I wouldn't introduce any new snacks since it could cause upset stomach. Simply observe her normal feeding times and stop for a quick walk and potty break every few hours. Make sure to keep her on a leash and be watchful of your surroundings when stopping.

I would advise that you contact the airlines that you are flying with. Seeing that Charlotte is a service dog, you should be able to work out a plan for her to fly in the cabin with you. I understand your stress and anxiety over this but I'm sure that you can resolve this by contacting your airlines and discussing this with them. I hope you and Charlotte are able to fly together and that you have a safe trip.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If your puppy is on a leash and sitting on your lap I think it is fine, if it is legal, to take Taffy on the bus. In the US we have to follow the laws and most dogs would have to be in a pet carrier to ride on public transportation. Bring water with you and food if the trip is a long one. But I think Taffy will be fine. I wish you the best!

If you would like to bring Pika to you, that is certainly ok! I moved from American to New Zealand, and shipped two dogs and two cats with me. They were able to make the move without problems. If you feel that she is missing you a lot and want her with you, certainly do it. I would speak with a pet transporter company about shipping her, as they can help with you any tests required to bring her into the UK.

If you are planning to export him to Europe, then you should first look up all of the requirements needed for the specific country you are going to. You can find this information at the Country's agriculture import website. When you find the information, you should read it thoroughly and get a good understanding of the requirements prior to having his next vaccine. Many times these countries require the dog be microchipped in order for the vaccine to be valid. Also, you will want to make sure you get the appropriate microchip ( Usually the ISO chip). Marlo should get his next vaccine around 10- 11 weeks. I would first make sure that you have a vet who is certified to sign health certificates. If they are not, then find one that is and make appointments with only that vet in the future. Preferably you want to see a vet that has experience in overseas exports. All of this will help you avoid mistakes and having problems when exporting Marlo. I hope that helps and all goes well.
