It really depends on where you are taking her and how you are getting there. If she is used to traveling than it shouldn't be a problem. If not, you may need to get a sedative from your vet, especially if the distance is far.

Great question! I would make sure to mark out places along the way where you can stop to let her out to go potty. Coraline will probably need a potty break every four to six hours, and to stretch her legs. Make sure any hotels you stay in definitely accept animals, and call them to be sure. My parents made a reservation at a hotel recently that said on the website they accepted animals, but when they turned up with their cats, they were told the hotel didn't accept pets. Needless to say, they were quite upset and had to scramble to find a hotel that did accept pets. Because you mentioned that she likes to chew things in a previous post, I would note down vets and vet ER clinics in towns you stay overnight in just in case. You might want to take a few long drives with Coraline before the big trip just to make sure she doesn't get car sick. If she does, you can talk to your vet about prescribing medications to prevent that. I hope this all helps!

Have a crate for her to sleep and ride in on the way. It will make her feel more secure and is safer for your pet in the event there is an accident. Make sure she has access to plenty of water and make sure to get some of the food she has been getting at the breeder, even if you plan to switch her to something else. Abruptly changing her diet can cause diarrhea and she doesn't need that additional stress on a long road trip. Make sure you have a secure harness and leash and keep it on her at all times when she is not in the crate. That way if she runs from you, you have a way of catching her easily before she gets herself into trouble. Have honey or light Karo syrup on hand in case she gets low blood sugar, as small breed puppies can be susceptible to hypoglycemia when under stress. The most important thing to ensure Violet is healthy during this trip is to make sure her vaccines are up to date. Also make sure she is up to date on her flea treatments, deworming treatments, and heartworm treatments. All of this combined will protect her during the trip :-)

That sounds like a lot of fun for Sara and the rest of the crew!!! I would definitely recommend to get all the dogs use to each other well before the trip, that way if there are some aggression issues or other problems, these can be addressed right away. It would be a good idea to get all the dogs use to long car rides. If some of the dogs don't travel well, you can talk to their vet about sedatives/anti-anxiety medications. Also you will need to make sure that all pets are up to date on vaccines as well as flea AND heartworm prevention. I recommend to use a more complete heartworm prevention such as Interceptor or even a combo product like Trifexis. These products prevent heartworm and also have activity against 3 intestinal worms. This is smart since the dogs will be traveling and thus have higher exposure. Lastly, you should carry with you the vaccine records and to be safe, get an interstate health certificate on each one.
