Dog inhaled bleach. Should I worry about sneezing and groaning?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dalmatian | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 35 lbs

My dogs got into some bleach while I was asleep and I don’t think they drank it but inhaled it for a little while in the room they was in. 35lb Dalmatian and 8 pound mix breed/Pomeranian. The Dalmatian is groaning and sneezing quite a lot and the smaller dog is just sneezing watery eyes. I got them both to eat a little and drink a little milk and water and washed them off they seem to be doing a little better but I’m scared something could be wrong still

You did just fine providing the treatment you did . In the future I just recommend you refrain from using milk - dogs really can't process milk well and some will get an upset stomach and/or diarrhea from it.

I highly doubt they ingested the bleach but if you are worried you should take them to a vet for an exam. You know them best so if you are worried you should have them seen.
