My dog has hot, red bumps on his belly and legs. What could it be?

Hi! It looks like Riley may have a skin infection- they commonly occur on the stomach area. Typically they're caused by bacteria or yeast, and can be secondary to allergies, so that would explain the itchiness. I'd take him to your vet, they may want to examine his skin to figure out what kind of infection, and recommend medications for the infection and the itching.

This looks like an allergic reaction to something or general allergies. Make sure he is on a good veterinary prescribed flea control. You can try to shampoo him in a chlorhexidine shampoo to help heal the red bumps. You can also Give him 75 mg (3 adult) Benadryl to help with any itching. If he isn't itching and/or the bumps aren't improving, I would contact your vet for an exam to ensure he doesn't need a stronger allergy medicine or antibiotics. I hope this helps!

It could be a rash but it could also be Hachi has a skin infection. Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is going on. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning to have this diagnosed and treated.

I am so sorry Pretty Girl is going through this. On her belly it looks like a little skin infection but on her side it looks like hives. If this just started today I would take her to an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. If this has been going on for a few days call your regular veterinarian tomorrow. If you wait then during the night if the bumps that look like hives get worse, her face swells or she has difficulty breathing then take her to an emergency veterinarian asap. Poor Odyssi! The red pimple-like lesions that you are seeing could be related to a skin infection or contact reaction to insect bites (mosquitoes, fleas, etc.). A trip to the vet is in order to further assess these lesions, as antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medications are likely needed. At this point, make sure that she is receiving a high quality flea and tick preventative (such as Nexgard, Bravecto or Advantix) regularly. Hi again, and thanks for your question. This could be a superficial bacterial infection, which may require something a bit stronger than topical antiseptic wipes. Your vet may recommend oral antibiotic therapy for a few weeks, and I would definitely advocate weekly (or twice weekly) bathing with a chlorhexidine-based shampoo. Leave the shampoo on for 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Does Rosco use a harness that may be irritating the stomach and elbows? Another possibility is an underlying allergy that is causing a secondary bacterial infection on the skin. If the skin is itchy, your vet may also recommend anti-inflammatory medications to help relieve the discomfort and help the skin to heal faster.
