My dog is in heat. Can she get pregnant if housed with a male?

Usually, people want to breed purebred dogs so they can get purebred puppies. That said, she doesn't need to breed with a specific other breed in order to get pregnant -- any male dog that she mates with and that is intact is capable.

If Iris becomes pregnant, she is unlikely to have issues giving birth, as most Huskies have pelvic canals which are proportional to their body size, and it is not certain that the puppies will be the exact size of the father (it is more likely that they will be somewhere in the middle). Your vet can also use x-rays and ultrasound to monitor the size of the puppies as Iris comes closer to term and recommend a c-section if necessary. Your question is kind of choppy but what I think your asking is this "a two year old mixed breed dog got pregnant and then died so you want to know if someone made her get pregnant". If so, it is possible someone put her together with an intact male dog to make babies. If you are asking if she wanted to be pregnant the answer is probably yes. Intact animals are looking to breed. That is science and evolution- the goal is to have your genes carried on. No one would have to lock her up for that, she can seek that out on her own. If you are unable to have one or both of the dogs spayed/neutered then you will have to be diligent about keeping them separated while the female is in heat. I would recommend keeping the female in the house and the male outside because if you leave the female outside there is a chance another male dog could mate her. I hope this helps.
