My dog ran into a glass door. What signs of head injury to watch for?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 8 months and 13 days old | 9 lbs

My dog just ran full speed into my glass door. He seems fine, and is acting normal. Is there anything specific I should look for just to double check he is okay?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Max. Dogs have pretty hard heads, but keep an eye out for unconsciousness, disorientation, bleeding from the nose and eyes, pupils of unequal sizes, and seizures. If he's acting normally, it's unlikely you will see any of these signs, but if you do, have him seen by a vet immediately. I hope this helps!
