My dog coughed up a weird hairball. Is more foreign material stuck?

Lola may have been eating grass as well if she had an upset stomach, and that could cause the color of the vomit. Keep an eye on her for now, and if she vomits again, have her seen by a vet. He may also have some grass or another foreign object lodged in his esophagus. She would be too uncomfortable. Maybe something was stuck before but may have cleared by now. Since she is sleeping, just keep an eye on her for now. I always think a cough is worth evaluating. Some reasons are more benign than others, but it is always a good idea to know why your dog is coughing so you can be aware of how it may progress and prevent future problems. The first step is to have your veterinarian examine Scooter and take x-rays of his chest. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Bruno is super cute! So I hope I am understanding everything: Bruno got groomed then started coughing and licking his legs. He coughed and vomited up some hair? And since he suffers from gastritis you gave him a zantac. I am thinking he possibly picked up kennel cough from getting groomed. Sometimes they cough and produce phlegm and maybe since he is licking his legs there was hair in his stomach. I would make an appointment to get Bruno looked at. See if the Vet agrees, then they can provide antibiotics and something to help stop him from licking his legs. Good luck!

It sounds like Princess may have eaten something naughty (trash, toilet paper, paper plate, sock, toy stuffing, other) that decided to come back up. The fact that she has shown no signs today is promising. If she has eaten and kept it down, you are likely in the clear. Caveat: Do watch her closely for the next 2-3 days because if a smaller piece of whatever it was did get through and gets lodged in the intestine, you'll see lots more vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, etc. If this happens, it's time to see the vet. Hi there. So sorry this happened. The photos are nice and clear but unfortunately I am unable to identify exactly what they may have been. That definitely looks like some type of tissue but what exactly, I don't know. It could be a cuterebra (bot fly). https://www.petful.com/pet-health/cuterebra-treatment/ If it was a bot fly she ingested it from the environment. It is not living inside her. I don't know if it is a cuterebra so I suggest you get her to your vet for an exam and a deworming just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps.
