Dog grazed by car, limping, no pain. When should I see a vet?

He should be seen by a vet right away. Even though he is moving all of his extremities well, he may have internal injuries that need treatment. He could have a slow bleed, rupture of an organ, etc. Medical attention is very important.

Poor Glizzy! I would take Glizzy into a vet immediately. There could be internal injuries from getting hit by a car, and that can only be determine with a physical exam and x-rays. This is a medical emergency, and I would take Glizzy into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him now.

Poor Lily! There are many different possibilities in this case. It may be that she has simply bruised herself or damaged a muscle or ligament. However she may have a more serious injury such as a fracture or ligament rupture. If she seems to be comfortable and nothing looks out of place you could let her rest 24 hours then if she is no better or getting worse head to the vet.

Did the limping start today? I wonder if Pawl injured a muscle when he got hurt. It sounds like if the limping is intermittent that it might be ok to wait a short while, but I always worry about fractures and if delaying the exam would cause delayed healing as well. However, many soft tissue injuries will heal in their own with a few weeks of strict rear and possibly anti inflammatory medications if he needs them. I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian, but as long as the limping is improving then you may be able to wait until next week. In my experience, injuries like this often take a bit of time to manifest. Usually there is at least some soreness involved, and even though it doesn't sound like anything is broken, I would recommend a vet visit to be sure. It's kind of like straining something at the gym - you often don't feel the pain for several hours, and you vet can give him a bit of an anti-inflammatory pain medication to help him be more comfortable.

If he is not walking well and his breathing is abnormal, I highly recommend you consider having him reevaluated by a veterinarian since he has not improved. They may take chest x rays to check on why he is breathing loudly such as a pulmonary contusion for example. If you mean that he is unable to urinate, that is a medical emergency, and requires immediate veterinary care. Your vet will assess him and recommend appropriate treatment, which will likely include pain medication, imaging and possibly surgical repair.
