My dog just had a vet visit. How can I get a second opinion quickly?

Unfortunately I cannot contact you outside this site :-( My recommendation is to have your vet contact a vet at a vet school in the US for guidance and help with the surgery. Vets will consult with other vets for help with surgeries, and many vet are willing to provide this help. That way, your vet gets one on one help. Best of luck!

I know it can be frustrating when the test we run do not always tell us an answer. In the picture her mammary glands are enlarged but this could be due to her being pregnant, having a false pregnancy or even infection in her uterus/ mammary glands. According to her blood work her white blood cells are elevated and she is anemic. I would make sure her uterus is healthy and she does not have any Gastrointestinal parasites. If she truly is 11 months old it is rare for a pyometra (pus filled uterus) to occur but she might of become pregnant/false pregnancy. I would recommend maybe taking her to another vet to get another opinion if she is feeling worse and seems to still be in pain.

You are welcome to seek a second opinion, and there is no reason to be concerned that this would affect the care that Bailey receives at either vet. However, you might followup with the vet who originally saw her; that vet may recommend performing some tests, or trying a different treatment plan based on Bailey not responding as expected the first time. The law requires a Veterinary Client Patient Relationship and to have this an in person examination of the pet is needed to prescribe medications. We are here to provide advice and support. Poor pup! I'm sorry that she's having this problem. It would help to know what specific tests and treatments (specific medications, doses, etc.) she has had, in order to be able to make any specific suggestions about what to do next.
