Can my dog get meningitis from a human family member with the illness?

Not commonly no. There is only one strain of strep that is contagious to dogs and it has only been recorded to happen on rare occurrences. Therefore I wouldn't be as concerned about transfer to your pet. Now with that in mind, I wouldn't go allowing your pet to lick all over your face and eat your used tissues in the wastebasket either. There are a few rare cases of dogs catching the flu from their humans, but generally the answer is no. I would recommend having a family member take him to his vet for a check up to see what's going on.

Hello. Most gastrointestinal disease is spread by the fecal nasal or fecal oral route. This means your dog has to come into actual contact with contaminated feces from the affected dog in order to get sick. By just sniffing & touching you, your dog should be fine, but do consider updating his vaccinations to protect him from other diseases that are out there.
