My dog's food has worms, and he's lethargic. What should I do?

  If you saw worms in his food, I would be concerned that it may have been spoiled - he may have an upset stomach now because of this. If he's acting pretty normal otherwise, you can try feeding him some plain boiled chicken and white rice for the next 2-3 days to help settle his stomach and get his appetite back to normal, then gradually transition back to his regular diet. If he develops any other symptoms, or if the lethargy and decreased appetite don't improve, then I would recommend having him checked by a vet to see if something else may be wrong.

  I would be concerned his food had spoiled because there are works in it. Do not give him anymore of that food, and buy him fresh food. For today, feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day. If he is still lethargic tomorrow, take him into your vet.

  Hi, and thanks for your question.
  As a first approach, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days.
  I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.

  Diarrhea and throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc. Lucky likely got a tummy ache from the unusual food he scavenged.
  Take Lucky off all food for 12 hrs then feed bland food for a day or two, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to his regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if he gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.
