How much food and treats should my 3-month-old Mini Poodle eat?

It depends entirely on the brand of food, the amount recommended are written on the food label that you are feeding her, it is the daily amount requirement so you would need to divide this amount by 4 if you are feeding her 4 times a day.

I recommend you feed dry food that is made for xtra small dogs like this one from Royal Canin. Yes, you can mix some canned food into it as well. It is best to feed multiple small meals per days with these little micro/mini breeds as they tend to get low blood sugar if they go too long between meals. Small meals 3-4 times per day is best - mostly dry food and just a touch of the wet food. Do this until about 6 months of age then you can go to feeding twice per day. I would feed Charley according to the instructions on his food bag label, as each food has a different recommended daily amount. He needs to be fed a puppy formulated food, as he needs higher amounts of calories, protein, and calcium than an adult dog, and a puppy food will provide that. I would also feed him three times a day. Divide the daily amount recommended on his bag into three equal portions and feed him morning, noon, and evening. Make sure he's up to date on his deworming treatments, as having intestinal parasites will make him hungry all the time.

Puppy food is calorie-dense, so as to meet the energy needs of high-energy puppies. You can try breaking the amount into smaller, more frequent meals (ie three or four times a day) so she feels like she is getting to eat more. I would not over-feed her for fear of early onset obesity, which can lead to significant health issues later in life. You can also supplement her diet with healthy treats during the day such as carrots or green beans. After she is spayed, her energy requirements will decrease and she will need to be fed less food so she doesn't become overweight. I hope this is helpful!

The food needs to be slowly transition over 7-10 days introducing the new food in about 20% increment every other day. For detail, contact your veterinarian on how to transition the food. Recommended brands are Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams. Choose one, and stick with it until about one year of age. After that, transition to an adult formula for small breeds from the same brand. Void feeding anything other than the dogs food and a few treats made specifically for dogs. Hopes this helps!

Irati should eat about 1/3-1/2 cup of Science Diet puppy food per day mixed with some water, divided into smaller meals. Since she is still quite young and small, I generally recommend feeding 4-5 times per day. I'm working under the assumption that she is no longer with her mother, and as such is not nursing. If she is still nursing from her mom, she will not need quite as much food. As a future reference, following the chart on the bag of puppy food as Irati grows will be helpful, as you will frequently need to adjust the volume of kibble that she is eating. She should continue eating puppy food until she is 1 year old, after which time she can be transitioned to an adult dog food. As a young Shih Tzu puppy, I'm assuming that Luna is under 3 pounds. Based upon that estimated body weight and her age, the chart recommends feeding 1/4-3/4 cups per day, divided into smaller meals. Small breed puppies really need to eat 3-4 times per day, if possible, because they can easily develop hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if they do not eat frequently, which can lead to extreme weakness and seizures in severe cases. Try to feed Luna in the morning, when you get home from work, and again at bedtime, giving her about 1/8 cup per meal. If possible, try to look for a dog walker, pet sitter, or neighbor to feed her and let her outside midday. I hope that all goes well!
