My chihuahua is quiet, not eating, has a fever. Did he catch my cold?

Based on the symptoms you have outlined, I would guess that Chai most likely has some sort of infection somewhere within the body. Given that there is some vomiting, a reasonable assumption would be somewhere within the digestive tract, liver, or pancreas. Only blood work would provide us with enough information to at least point us in one direction or another. Chai is going to require some medications to address the vomiting and fever, as well as some fluids most likely to correct any dehydration that is taking place. If there is an infection somewhere within the body, at least one antimicrobial drug will be required to clear things up. I don't know about the Philippines, but in USA most of the drugs that will be required to help Chai are prescription only, meaning you will have to find a veterinarian to help you. Some other possibilities other than an infection would include organ failure, an endocrine condition called Addison's disease, and even cancer. You are correct that she could be cold, especially if the weather has suddenly turned that way. and she now wants to hide under blankets all the time. Chihuahuas are small dogs and can easily get cold, and I would recommend putting a sweater or coat on her to see if that helps her stay warm. If she had a cold, I would expect to see some respiratory signs as well, such as coughing, sneezing, or a runny nose. Try putting a sweater or coat on her to see if that helps, and if it doesn', then take her into the vet for a health check if she's still lethargic.

Poor Cobalt! It sounds like he is lethargic, and he does have a slight fever. Unfortunately these are very general signs of illness, and could be caused by systemic illness, infection, or inflammation. I would keep an eye on him for now, and if the fever goes above 39.5, he stops eating, he continues to be lethargic, or he develops other signs such as vomiting, take him into a vet immediately. There are a wide variety of possible causes for anorexia and lethargy in a young dog, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, bacterial or viral infection (especially parvo virus in improperly vaccinated dogs), intestinal blockage, colitis, among others. I would recommend trying to schedule an appointment at a vet in a different area, as this really shouldn't wait for another week.

Not every pet with a fever has an infection, so if the antibiotic isn’t working it’s either because there is no infection, the infection is internal, or the antibiotic is not the right kind of antibiotic for the infection. Your pet needs additional testing to sort this out and make sure we are on the right track with treatment. I would start with baseline bloodwork and a urinalysis. I am sorry to hear Chai is not feeling well. Unfortunately, many things could cause these symptoms (bacterial, viral, foreign object, and toxins are a few). I would strongly recommend taking Chai to a veterinarian due to the severity of her illness. My concern is her vomiting and not drinking water with a fever. This combination can cause dehydration. Dehydration does need to be addressed by a veterinarian.
