My Siberian husky has a growth on his eyelid. What could it be?

This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. I would suggest to have it checked as it can rub against cornea and create discomfort and possibly corneal damage in the long run. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, inflammation of the eyelid glands, benign or more sinister type of tumors. If just inflammatory, a medical treatment can be attempted to reduce its size. It is not uncommon for older dogs to get benign growths on their eyelids. Usually these do not cause much problem. If it continues to grow and his eye is red or has more discharge than normal then I would take him in for an exam. It is a growth on the upper eye lid. It is still small but some of these growths have tendencies to get bigger over time and potentially cause problems. It may, for example start rubbing on the eye or it may change the shape of the upper eyelid. I would suggest you to take Beau to your local vet for full clinical examination and to decide what to do with this small growth. One option is to surgically remove the lump. The other option would be to wait and see if the lump is going to get bigger and cause any problems.

This lump on Shadow could be a meibomian gland adenoma or a stye. Both are benign growths, and not something about which to be too concerned. You can try holding a wash cloth that has been moistened in warm water again the lump to see if that help encourages drainage of the lump. Do this a couple of times a day for five minutes at a time. If this doesn't help, then I would have Shadow seen by a vet. If it is a meibomian gland adenoma, it can ulcerate, so it may need to be removed surgically to prevent irritation to the cornea of the eye.

It is difficult to say for sure without seeing it in person but it looks like a meibomian gland cyst. They have small gland along their eyelids that will get clogged and form these which resemble tumors. If she previously had one removed in this area, this could be that one growing back or a different one. If it isn't causing her eye to be irritated, red, or to squint then you could just watch it. If it is growing or irritated her eye or if you are unsure, I would have your vet take a look at it. It is always easier for a vet to remove it while it is small than waiting until it becomes really large. I hope this helps!

Hello. That looks like a small growth/tumor that originated in a tear-producing gland. Without an actual biopsy, we cannot say the exact type or if it is benign/malignant. However, the majority are Meibomian Gland Adenomas and typically are benign. They can bleed, cause inflammation or infection and, if large enough, can irritate or even scratch the cornea. The picture did not attach, so I do not have that information, but we commonly see eyelid margin tumors in older dogs. These are most commonly benign meibomian gland tumors.
