Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
Dog has a cut on his right eyelid (just above his eye). We noticed it 5 days ago. At first it just looked like a thin red line and was nearly unnoticable. Didn't do anything to treat it as it is so close to his eye. It doesn't seem to be healing and this morning almost looked like it was splitting open. The wound now looks larger and redder. After reading a bit, I've washed it with water and applied Bacitracin. He does not seem to be uncomfortable, but the appearance of the wound is alarming.

It should heal on its own. But without really examining him in person myself it’s kind of hard to say with 100% certainty. I would just keep doing what you’re doing. Keep it clean and apply an anabiotic ointment 2-3 times per day. Be sure not to use any hydrogen peroxide as that will delay healing and could damage the eye if it gets on the eyeball.
