My dog's other eye has similar symptoms. Can I use the same medicine?

Hello, thank you for your question about Kavi. Overall I would say the need for preventative medication in the other eye is somewhat dependent on what the underlying cause of the glaucoma was. Additionally, taking it to account the current pressure in his remaining eye would be important in deciding the need for these ocular medications. If the pressure is high normal or has been trending upward, I think these medications are beneficial. If you would like more information or would like more information about the underlying cause/current pressure in his eye you could get a second opinion from another veterinarian. Hopefully it is the same medication, although there have been lawsuits about mislabeled and counterfeit medications with online pharmacies. Using this medication again depends on the expiry date of the medication, and the specific medication Maggie was prescribed. Some medications have a very short shelf life, and need to be thrown out after use. Because I don't know this information, I can't say if it's safe to use this medication again on Maggie, so I recommend giving the vet who prescribed it the first time a call to see if they feel it's safe for you to use it again.

It is difficult to give advice without actually seeing the eye. You are welcome to post again with a photo if you'd like. That being said, as long as she is not pawing at the eye, scratching at it or squinting then you can probably wait until your vet opens again to take her for a recheck exam. Continue to put the medications in as prescribed. If you are noticing squinting or that the eye is actually bothering her then you need to get her to a vet ASAP for an exam. Hope this helps. Cedar is exposing her third eyelid. This can have several different causes, including head or neck trauma, something stuck under one of the lids, corneal ulcer or abrasion, infection, among others. If the medication was prescribed for Cedar and DOES NOT contain a steroid, it should be safe. Steroids could interfere with healing in some cases and should not be used until after evaluation by a vet.

It sounds like Falkor may have an eye infection. You can gently clean the eye out with saline, but I would not use those medications you have on them. Legally, I cannot say if it's safe to use them on Falkor because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. They could also be the wrong drug for his condition, and they could be expired. His eye does need to be examined by a vet, which can let you know if it's safe to use those medications, or can prescribe him new ones. I would have him seen by a vet right (and bring the meds with you), as any eye condition should be considered an emergency (leaving them untreated can lead to vision loss).
