My dog's eye changed color and is bloodshot after playing. Emergency?

I would have Benjy seen by a vet immediately. It's very concerning that his eyes are so sore that the are around them is bleeding. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with them should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Benjy needs to see a vet right away to diagnose what is causing the bleeding and his sore eyes so he can be treated. I'm very concerned that Bruno's eye was coming out of its socket, and the red color could be due to the initial cause of the eye coming out or from you pushing it back in. This can be caused by trauma, a head injury, or a shallow eye socket. He has to see a vet immediately for this problem even though you have pushed the eye back in, which I would never recommend doing yourself again. This would have been very painful for him, and you may have accidentally done damage to the eye, socket, and tissue, which as I said could be the reason why the eye is so red now. This is not a procedure that is ever recommended for owners to do, expect in extreme circumstances such as being hours away from a vet, no water or saline available, you and the dog are stranded, etc. In addition, there is a chance he could lose his sight from this prolapse, and his vision needs to be evaluated right away. I am sorry to hear about your Pomeranian! If she doesn't seem to be in pain right now then I don't think it is an emergency that needs to be seen tonight. It sounds like she is likely blind already? The only reason to bring her in urgently would be in case there was an issue where vision could be lost if she didn't have urgent treatment (i.e. retinal detachment, severe glaucoma) but from your description, I am guessing her vision is gone so that wouldn't be a concern? If she does become uncomfortable (rubbing eyes, increased watering/squinting, whining, inability to rest) then you may consider a trip to the emergency vet.

Hello, yes you definitely need to take him to your vet to get it checked, it's most likely a corneal ulcer, this can happen due to an injury or eye infection, often it can get worse and even cause blindness in that eye, it needs to be treated with special eye drops

I would recommend taking Princess in for a veterinary exam. Eyes tend to heal quickly or get bad quickly. The one picture looks similar to a scleral hematoma, but the other picture looks like something is going on in the cornea. The cornea can be an emergency situation if there is an ulcer present. The veterinarian will do some diagnostics like an eye stain and prescribe appropriate medications for her. Eye injuries are painful, so she might need pain meds. It looks as Benji is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.
