My dog's eye went from cloudy to a growing lump. What is it?

It is a little difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like one of Charlie's eyes is looking upwards and is protruding slightly. This can be caused by damage to the nerves or muscles that control the movement of the eye, glaucoma, or a mass behind the eye. i recommend having Charlie seen by a vet as soon as possible, as eye conditions are frequently painful and can quickly turn into emergencies. In the meantime, you can get him an E-collar or "cone" to make sure that he does not scratch or rubt he eye, causing further trauma. I hope this helps and that all is well with Charlie!

I recommend to get this puppy examined today. That eye looks inflamed and possibly infected. It's possible this is a congenital anomaly but the appearance of the eye looks suspicious for something is trapped in the eye (hair or or object) or that a virus has causes a painful corneal abrasion. The opacity may represent corneal edema which is very worrisome. It's possible he is in pain so get this addressed quickly. Best of luck.

Hello, thank you for your question about Chloe. Based on the photos that you've attached and the symptoms that you are describing it sounds like Chloe may have a mass/tumor on her eyelid. These are generally benign and do not lead to systemic problems. Other possible causes include a cyst or local infection. Since this lesion is growing in size I would recommend having Chloe seen by your veterinarian. If it continues to grow it may lead to problems on the surface of her eye. Your veterinarian can examine Chloe and determine the need for diagnostics such as ocular examination and potential removal of this lesion. Hope this helps!

I am sorry to hear about Bobo. Unfortunately your photo is a little blurry and so I am not able to identify the area you are concerned about. Possible causes for a circular/round swelling could include a tumor (we can have benign tumors that don't cause issues and can be monitored and malignant tumors which behave aggressively and require surgical removal) or a stye or pocket of infection. I would recommend an examination by your dog's vet to look at the area of concern. If they feel it is a stye/infection they may prescribe an antibiotic. If they feel it is a tumor they may recommend removal or regular monitoring.

Hello. That looks like a small growth/tumor that originated in a tear-producing gland. Without an actual biopsy, we cannot say the exact type or if it is benign/malignant. However, the majority are Meibomian Gland Adenomas and typically are benign. They can bleed, cause inflammation or infection and, if large enough, can irritate or even scratch the cornea. Without a picture or examining Laila it's difficult to say what is going on for sure. Dogs can get small tumors on their eyelids called meibomian gland tumors and normally these are benign. However, I'm a little concerned that it has gotten larger overnight. It could also be an area of infection or a more serious tumor type. If you can post a picture of Laila it may be helpful to give you further advice. If not, it would be best to err on the side of caution and have Laila examined by your veterinarian. I am afraid that this red mass looks like a tumor or multicystic mass. This is definitely something that needs to be seen by a vet as it a) keeps your dog from closing his eye lid which can damage the eye to the point of losing vision (will dry out the cornea), and b), tumors can grow invasively, ie destroy the eye. Your vet will examine the mass, possibly take a little bit of tissue to examine under the microscope or send in to a pathology lab and then, depending on the findings, discuss treatment options, which could include removal of the mass alone (if possible), medication to remove it or make it shrink, or even removal of the eye.
