My dog's eye is bleeding after play, but he shows no pain. Vet needed?

Judging by the picture it looks as if Pompeu has a burst blood vessel in his eye. This usually occurs from increased pressure in the eye or some type of injury or trauma. With time the blood will go away and there is nothing you need to do for the eye. If you notice any discharge, your dog is holding the eye closed, or if the eye seems swollen at all, then I would recommend you taking him into see the vet. This should resolve on its own, but I recommend keeping an eye on the area to make sure that it does not get any bigger or cause Gary any discomfort. Hello, yes you definitely need to take him to your vet to get it checked, it's most likely a corneal ulcer, this can happen due to an injury or eye infection, often it can get worse and even cause blindness in that eye, it needs to be treated with special eye drops

Watch Egie for any signs that the eye itself was injured such as squinting, redness to the sclera or excessive tearing. As long as the injury is only on the skin, your pup can probably heal on his own. If the eye itself is injured, havehim examined quickly. Have him wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Until the wound is healed, no more play dates. I am not familiar with Leucillin but as long as it is safe for the eyes, you can apply the ointment for the next 1- 2 days then stop. If he is holding the eye open and has no discharge, then it maybe just infkammation. If there is a mucous discharge or he is holding the eye closed then it may have scratched the cornea and caused an ulcer. If that is the case he needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible

Poor Blacky. If at all possible, Blacky needs to go to an emergency clinic right now. This could be as minor as a skin scrap, or as severe as a ruptured eyeball. If you are unable to get to an emergency clinic, use a warm wash cloth to clean off his face and get to a vet as soon as possible if he's squinting or his eye looks odd in any way. This usually happens with trauma to the eye or if the dog has been choked. If it is just a burst blood vessel, it should resolve with time, like a bruise. If there is any swelling, squinting, cloudiness of the clear part of the eye or discharge, I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian to make sure there is not something more serious that requires treatment.
