My dog has excessive pus-like eye goobers in both eyes. What's wrong?

Poor Pippa! I definitely see the discharge in the inner corner of her eye, and a little bit of redness. You should definitely have her examined by a vet as soon as possible, because eye issues can turn into emergencies very quickly. The discharge can be due to conjunctivitis, a foreign body, or even a scratch in the cornea (this condition is dangerous as it can quickly progress and even cause a dog to lose their eye). In the meantime, you can get Pippa an E-collar (or "cone") to prevent her from scratching the eye and causing further damage and apply artificial tears to the eye two to three times per day. This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. This is actually more of a type of mucous secreted by the eyelid and not pus. It does look like it's a bit too much though and if it has been six months, then it has not been treated effectively and it's best to have a vet diagnose the exact problem. The eye doesn't look very bad from the picture, but it's difficult to say without examining it in-person. I suspect that it's a mild to moderate irritation that's causing this. It could be due to allergies, or a deformity of the eye, or eyelid that's causing irritation. It could also be due to a lack of tear production. A vet will easily be able to tell if these are the problems. I hope that helps and Chelsea gets better soon.

Eye discharge like you are having can be due to a variety of reasons, including KCS (dry eye), a scratch/ulcer on the cornea, an eye infection, foreign material in the eye, or another underlying issue. If the discharge is persistent and is starting to make the eye goopy, I would commend she be evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for her eye issue, as some can cause permanent damage that would benefit from being addressed quickly. I would have her examined, have any necessary testing done (tear production, stain for scratches, pressure check for glaucoma if needed) and start on any treatment she may need to help resolve it. Based on the pictures, I suspect that Willow may have an eye infection or dry eye. I would recommend having Willow examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She may need antibiotic eye drops / ointment or dry eye medication. I would recommend that the vet stains her eye and checks to see if she has dry eye by using a Schirmer Tear Test.
