My dog had surgery for a lump. Is an enlarged lymph node serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 years and 8 months old

My Dog had exploratroy surgery yesterday. Vet found a lump and removed it. H says it looks like a lymph mode. Is this bad.

It could be an accidental finding, enlarged lymph nodes on the intestines for example are common with gastrointestinal infections and other intestinal condition. i am assuming he sent the lump to histologist examination, you should get the results in a few days.
