Is popcorn chicken safe for my dog to eat, and how much is too much?

I am sorry to hear about Scotch! If your vet recommended a certain food or feeding schedule I would continue with their recommendations as long as Scotch isn't vomiting. If they gave no recommendations you can try feeding very small meals of bland diet such as cooked white rice and boiled chicken breast in very small amounts every few hours.

Plain popcorn is fine for them to eat occasionally, but I would limit it to only a few (3-5)pieces at a time, because cats are designed to mostly eat animal - based food. I would also make sure that it doesn't contain too much salt.

Oh dear! Fortunately, I would not expect this to cause any serious problems - neither popcorn nor caramel are considered toxic to dogs. She may have some vomiting or diarrhea for the next day or so, but otherwise no major problems would be expected. It's theoretically possible that she could develop pancreatitis or some other more serious GI illness as a result of eating something she isn't used to, but most dogs in this situation don't become seriously ill. If she is sick for more than 24 hours, or if she stops eating or begins acting very lethargic, it would be best to take her to the vet for an exam as these would be more concerning signs - she may need symptomatic treatment and/or IV fluids and supportive care.

A pet this size should be eating approximately 2-2.5 cups of food a day. That can translate to cooked and chopped chicken as well. Howver the meal needs to be balanced with vegetables. Yes, cooked chicken meat is fine. Do not give cooked chicken bones as they will splinter when chewed and can cause damage in the stomach and intestines. I prefer to give a good quality dog food, and use a small amount of chicken for treats when training or to encourage dogs to eat. Potatoes are safe for dogs to eat, as long as they are cooked and given in small pieces so that dogs do not choke on them. Potatoes are high in carbs, but provide vitamins including vitamins A and C, as well as iron.
