Is honey safe for dogs to eat? What kind and how much can they have?

Yes, both of these foods are safe for dogs - there's no reason that you couldn't give them every day, in small amounts as a treat. Just make sure that you're not using a sugar-free brand of peanut butter, as some of these contain xylitol which is toxic for dogs. Most "regular" peanut butter brands are fine :)

I do not think it will do much to prevent allergies though. But to try for that purpose be sure to purchase honey from your exact location. I hope this helps!

Pure molasses is safe, it has to be all-natural with no artificial sweeteners. But keep in mind it's a sugar, and Lucky doesn't not need that in his diet. I would only give him a very small amount occasionally, such as 1/8 teaspoon. Do not give it to him daily.

They can have those items, just in moderation. Make sure the peanut butter does not contain xylitol. Limit honey and peanut butter to prevent stomach upset or excess weight gain. Oatmeal should be cooked first and not have any added flavors or sweeteners.

Hello. I am so glad you checked to make sure the peanut butter did not contain any xylitol. Xylitol can cause a dog's blood sugar to drop dangerously low, so it is important to avoid this. Too much PB for Chewy has the same risk as too much PB for us. It will make you fat. So, try to place no more than a teaspoon in the ball, & not a heaping teaspoon & do this only once a day. Hello. Dogs do enjoy the same peanut butter we eat, but they do make peanut butter treats for dogs, too. If you do give Simba people peanut butter, make sure it does not contain the sugar alcohol xylitol as this is dangerous for dogs. You will only find this in sugar free versions of peanut butter. Peanut butter is not toxic and can be fed as an occasional treat to dogs. It's also good for hiding pills in if you ever need to medicate your dog. As long as your dog does not have an intolerance to peanut butter, there is no concern for feeding it. If you notice that Bear is vomiting or having diarrhea, then it will be best not to feed it.
