Is it safe to give my puppy honey to prevent spring pollen allergies?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier | Male | unneutered | 25 lbs

Is it ok to give a little bit of honey to my 6month wheaten puppy so his body will be somewhat immune to pollen in the spring. Thank you for your help

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

You can give dogs honey but it should be only very small amounts due to the sugar content. I do not think it will do much to prevent allergies though. But to try for that purpose be sure to purchase honey from your exact location.

I hope this helps!
