My dog's nose is dry, she's withdrawn after moving. Is she sick?

Any continued abnormal symptoms (longer than 24 hours) warrants a vet exam. I cannot tell you what is wrong with her just by your description. Her symptoms are very vague and could be due to almost any illness. Please get her a vet exam as soon as you can.

Unfortunately these symptoms can signal many many conditions. Just like people, there are many conditions that can make pets feel sick. This could range from an infection to cancer. Also like us, diseases are best addressed early and this may result in a better prognosis. I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian within the next 24 hours. This is because a dog's nose can go from wet and cold to warm and dry just by laying in the sun or next to the heat source. The lethargy is a little more concerning. It's a very general sign of illness, and can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. If Winston is eating and drinking, and his only symptom is lethargy, you can watch him for now. Keep him warm and comfortable. Should this lethargy continue over the next 48 hours, or he develops other signs such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing, nasal discharge, or anorexia, he will have to see a vet. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. The nose of a dog is not used as an indication of illness. A dog's nose can change from cold and wet to warm and dry just by laying in the sun or sitting near a heat source. He may still be sleepy from his nap, and given that he just started this behavior, I would monitor him for now. If he's still lethargic in the morning, I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.

Poor Mini. I'm not sure what her exact symptoms are if she isn't feeling well, but I do recommend a vet visit this weekend. Whenever a dog is sick, it's always important to take them into a vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.

Poor girl. These symptoms of having a dry nose, increased drinking, and lethargy are very vague unfortuantely so it is difficult to tell exactly what may be going on with Pixie here. I think its best to go ahead and schedule her an appt with your vet so that a complete physical exam can be done and possibly even bloodwork to look for clues as to what is causing her illness. If everything checks out okk, then the vet will likely recommend going forward with her yearly vaccines, since you say she is likely due. I would be concerned that she hurt herself somehow. Unfortunately, without a physical examination it is hard to say exactly what is causing her symptoms. I would consider calling your veterinarian if she is still having this issue when you wake up in the morning and having her seen.
