Drooling is a sign of nausea which could be caused by something she ate. She may correct herself, so I would suggest perhaps monitoring her for the next 6 hrs to see if this behavior stops. If she continues to drool and/or other symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite) develop then that is definitely a good time to get her checked by your local veterinarian. Other possible causes of drooling are: problems with her teeth, infection, and nausea due to organ malfunction (i.e. kidneys, liver, etc). You can also offer her a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for the next few feedings to see if this too will help settle her stomach. Hello, sorry to hear about Mango. The not eating and drooling make me worry about some form of dental disease or being nauseous from an upset GI tract. These possibilities should be explored thoroughly by your veterinarian. Mango may need an oral exam and full blood work to start. He may eventually need an abdominal ultrasound. You can offer him a bland diet of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken and low fat cottage cheese to see if he will eat some. Hi. Yes this does sound concerning. Drooling is a sign of nausea usually, or an oral irrirant or lesion in the mouth. If she has diarrhea too, I would say its most likely nausea. This can be caused by gi disease, something they ate, infection, something stuck in intestines, or many other causes. She should be seen with these signs.

Vomiting can be a sign of many possible underlying causes such as problems within the GI tract (ingestion of foreign material, inflammation, infection) or systemic disease. Since Spaz only had one episode of vomiting so far you could continue to monitor him for any further episodes of vomiting or other symptoms. If the vomiting continues or Spaz develops any additional symptoms I would recommend having him seen by a veterinarian. If he has indeed produced vomit (as apposed to retching without getting anything up), and he’s drooling but playful, it’s reasonable to give him through the night and see how he is in the morning. The drooling is probably because he’s nauseous. If he seems dumpy or lethargic in the morning, or if he’s still drooling or continues vomiting or has no interest in food, you need to take him in tomorrow. I hope that’s helpful! Drooling can be a sign of nausea and this with a decreased activity level can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities.
