Why is my Lab drooling from one side, but eating and playing fine?

Drooling can be a sign of pain or nausea. IF she is feeling bad then she may need to see your vet. they can check her mouth and teeth for any wounds or sores or abscesses or look for any pain anywhere else. If she is not eating or having diarrhea, then that is a sign it is from nausea and they can provide medicine for that. You can try boiled chicken and rice to see if she is interested in that food and see how she handles that.

Poor Lux! The brown drool could be due a dental problem, such as a tooth root abscess or a broken tooth. I would have her seen by a vet first thing in the morning to have her mouth examined. Should she have a dental problem, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

Poor Lola. Unless she is foaming at the mouth, there is excessive drool from her mouth, vomiting, refusing to eat, or acting abnormal then I would watch her closely. If the drool is continuing tomorrow or becomes excessive, then I would consider taking her to your emergency vet. Drooling can be a sign of toxin ingestion but they usually are drilling excessively and it isn’t just from one side of the mouth. She could be drooling due to nausea, a tooth problem, oral ulcers, tumors in the mouth and much more. Your vet will be able to help determine the cause if she continues. I hope this helps.

Hello there and thank you for your post! With the symptoms you are describing that Jasper has I would suspect severe dental disease with the drooling and dark brown reddish spots. This could indicate that he has severe dental disease and may explain why he has infrequent eating times. I would also be concerned about a respiratory infection if he is coughing and given his age I would have to put a cancerous cause on my list of possibilities. I would have your veterinarian examine him to find out why he is drooling and coughing. I would suggest getting X-rays of Jasper's chest to see if there are any suspicious changes that would indicate infection or cancer. I hope Jasper feels better! It sounds like Indiana could be a little nauseous, as drooling can be a sign of nausea. He may have played too roughly, and upset his stomach. I would rest him, and wait another hour before feeding him. Because he's already uncomfortable, i wouldn't recommend feeding him just yet because that can cause bloat. In another hour, if he seems a little more comfortable, you can give him small amounts of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. You can feed him this a couple of times tonight, and then tomorrow slowly add back in his normal diet. Hopefully by tomorrow, he will be back to his normal self. If he's not, then I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.

Drooling can be a sign of nausea and this with a decreased activity level can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Hello, I'd recommend taking Jaxon to the veterinarian. Excessive drooling could be a sign of nausea and pain. They will want to x-ray his abdomen and see if the plastic he ate is lodged in his intestines, possibly requiring surgical removal. This would be the most common reason for a vaccinated puppy to be this nauseous. I hope this is helpful.
