My dog is drooling brown. Is this a sign of a dental problem?

It was the right thing to do to look into Jasper's mouth! You are right the excessive drooling could be due to dental problems, but it could also be due to nausea, stress, or anxiety. Since he is eating fine, drinking normally, and behaving normally, then I would not take him into a vet just yet. If the drooling continues through today, then I would take him into the vet tomorrow for an exam. It could be that he may have a dental problem, but it's far back in his mouth and may require sedation for a thorough look.

Poor Lola. Unless she is foaming at the mouth, there is excessive drool from her mouth, vomiting, refusing to eat, or acting abnormal then I would watch her closely. If the drool is continuing tomorrow or becomes excessive, then I would consider taking her to your emergency vet. Drooling can be a sign of toxin ingestion but they usually are drilling excessively and it isn’t just from one side of the mouth. IF she is feeling bad then she may need to see your vet. they can check her mouth and teeth for any wounds or sores or abscesses or look for any pain anywhere else. If she is not eating or having diarrhea, then that is a sign it is from nausea and they can provide medicine for that. You can try boiled chicken and rice to see if she is interested in that food and see how she handles that.

Unfortunately, without seeing Tuttu it is hard to say what the drooling and brown spots mean. Drooling can be from an upset stomach, to something stuck in their mouth, to organ issues. I recommend that you have Rufus evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam.
