Regular deworming has been advised for a long time, but the current practice is to test and treat only if necessary.
Personally, I think deworming every three months is overkill and a big reason why we have resistance now. If you live in an area that's high risk for worms and your dog is more likely to get exposed to worms, then testing every six months should be fine. If it's a lower risk, then testing once a year would be more practical.
Your vet should be able to help get you on a more strategic deworming plan.
For now, I would not worry about missing this one deworming. She should be fine and can wait at- least another month to check if the deworming is needed.
I hope that helps.

No. Many types of worms are all over in the environment and the eggs are microscopic. Your dog can always be exposed to them and get infected over and over again. Many dogs with parasites will not even show symptoms so we don't know they have them unless we specifically test for them by doing a fecal exam. This is why it is recommended to deworm on a regular basis.

The frequency of treatment depends on the product used - some are recommended for use daily for 3-10days depending on the amount of worms and previous treatment, some should only be used every 2-4weeks. Contact your vets office to confirm the prescribed dose and frequency for the product you have. Pups should be dewormed at least monthly until 6 months of age and then every 1-3months depending on where you live and local parasite risks
